Did a FAST recording of each - spent about 30 seconds placing a mic, and played each track once. It's full of clams, etc... but gives an interesting comparison. Guitars were recorded at a low volume too. I just wanted to see what the blending of the pairs of amps sounded like. ALL amps on the left of each clip are rackmount recto, amps on the right is listed in the name.

Guitar used - Les Paul Faded Standard with burstbucker pros.

Miked with an SM57 into a Korg D3200, then files transfered via USB to adobe audition, small amount of reverb added to the guitars.

Recto setup: early recto rackmount head (1992) into recto V30 4x12 oversize 'armor' cab.
SLO setup: 1995 SLO with depth mod into Bogner 4x12

XTC setup: 2004 101B into Bogner 4x12

Stiletto setup: Mesa Stiletto v.1 into recto cab above

laptop speakers, so hard to tell, but i'd say it's between the SLO and the Stiletto.

liked the rythmn crunch on the Stiletto a little better.

the SLO calls for the best overall mix but its because the blending in very well if you dont mind it being a big wall of sound in the best way possible

all 3 sound pretty good. I like the darkness of the Bogner but something tells me your not just playing rhythm with that band. The deciding factor would be what gave you flexibility and the best balance between rhythm and lead tones...not at low volume levels either ;)
