 Just nabbed a Renegade 1x12 combo. Amazing - good riddance to my horrible Fender Super-Sonic. Anyway, two questions -

1. The fan seems loud - should the fan be quiet or should you hear it hum?
2. My blue LED blinks and turns off at will - amp works great - does not affect the amp - Should I return it? The amp is a day old - or this is some sort of light show additional add-on? :D

I don't know about the Renegade because it is so much smaller, but on the Tourmaster that flickering happens just because the bulb is a little loose.

On the Tourmaster, you just unscrew the glass covering and push the bulb back in.

You might try that. It's certainly nothing to return the amp over. It probably just came loose.

I was playing a SuperSonic today and thought it was fun. What did you dislike so much about it? I liked the 2 X 12 Renegade better than the 1 X 12, but I am used to my 2 X 12 Tourmaster.

First off,Welcome to the board and congrats on the Amp. I just played a 212 combo at the local GC in the quiet room all by myself for about a hour and I would never have guessed there was a fan in it and the blue LED should stay lit. Great sounding amps for sure!!

Len - The Renegade combo has an LED - not a screw in light. My guess is the solder connection is loose since I can touch it and make ist go on and off...

As for the Fender - no bottom end. No tone. Great burn channel, but play the Renegade or even the Rebel - massive tone.

I have a 62 reissue strat from '79 and a Carvin along with a 76 Les Paul and they all sound amazing out of the Renegade.

I have both and have to run the bass of my BB preamp to get some bass in the ss..But it is still awesome..

Are you using the SS speaker and getting bass via the BB? or do you have a SS head - not combo? Mine was a combo. Open back - I wonder if this why no low end. Also crank up the bass on the amp and it's so subtle it's a joke, but hey, some people like em. Guitar Center told me people bring them back like no tomorrow - which means maybe Fender should redo the darn thing. But anyway, this is an egnater post! hee hee. :)

I thought it might be different from the Tourmaster- I was trying to remember it when I was writing. If you can't just quickly fix it yourself maybe it is worth exchanging. Or maybe just live with it if you like this particular one. I'm sure Egnater will fix it under warranty if there is an authorized repair guy near you.

I liked the clean channel on the SuperSonic but I agree- the Eggies eat it for lunch!

:D

Ill go hooki it up to an external speaker and see,Its the combo. That being said I luv my renegade,,I like the ss cuz its a zinky design...

Haha! I had a Supersonic and took it back after a week. That's when I got my two Rebel heads and 212x cab.

Yeah that being said the ss sux with shitty Sovtek 12ax7wa tubes..Put some money in Power tubes and NOS pre amp tubes and it isnt bad at all>>>>> :D

I liked the clean channel on the SS. Spanky sounding, I thought. Fender has never really been good at heavy overdrive.

:D ;)

Yes I know that HRDITIS ha ha But this od is good its just not real bassy as the HRD had to much frikin bass so I comensate..
My XTC and Renegade head are my goto amps the Fender is really an added need if recording..
I will still stick up for the Zinky designed Fenders

The clean channel on this Renegade is the best part of this amp...Fender could learn something from this. But w/that said, this clean channel sounds like a 65 fender vibrolux a bud of mine has...with some sustain to it though.

I stayed home from work today just to play with this thing...gees. I really like this amp a bunch!!!!!!!!!! Finally an amp that I just might like...

Oh and Brad at Guitar Center is giving me a brand new amp since the LED is messed up - have to wait but my bigger concern....will it sound the same????? If not - I'm keeping this little gem, LED or not...stay tuned!!!! or should I say toned? I HAVE TONE NOW!!! AND MY OWN SOUND!!!! Yippeeee!!!!

Picked up the new 1x12 today and it's exactly the same as the first one - if you have followed this list of comments.

Also the fan is loud and the same as the initial - but this is minor for me personally.

This amp is a gem. Might be the last amp I ever buy - ya like I've never said that before....

If you crank up the amp, do you get any rattle or vibration noise?
