Very new to this forum but actually a 60 year old (young) blues player from western NY
Is anyone using the Egnater 410 X cab with (2) amps in the 16 ohm ports?
If so what heads are you running????
I just received my cab this afternoon... and for years I was always dragging two 2x12 cabs along with two heads.....
I figured at my age I'd lighten the load to the Egnater 4x10 cab..
I used 10's in the early 1970's.....
I'm running a C/50 head on one side and a Tweaker 40 on the other....
The Tweaker sounds fine in a Avatar 2x12 cab with WGS retro 30's
BUT......flat as a pancake in the 410 X......
The C/50 head well truthfully sounds a lot better than the Tweaker but not too lively..
Maybe the Renegade cab has to be broken in???
I haven't tried removing the back panel to see how that sounds......
The cure might just be (4) WGS speakers BUT I hope not !!!!!!
Anyone that could shed some light to wake this cab up let me know ......I have 45 days and counting if I have to send it back
Thanks.......

When I worked at Egnater and all the cabinet were lined up...guess which one 2 out of the 3 liked? 4x10! Even better than the old v30 loaded go to cab!

Have you tried running one of your heads into all four speakers? How does that sound? 2x10s always have sounded like ass to me but 4x10s is amazing for clean tones. Definitely try taking the back panel off and see if that is more to your liking.

So are you using an A/B switch to toggle your heads? I would look into a amp head switcher so you can toggle the heads into the cab using all 4 speakers not just two per side. I guess that would defeat the purpose for getting the stereo cab... but you could go back to the single 2x12 cab that you like the sound of.

Hey Marco....I use a Radial Twin City Bones X ABY Amp Switcher to toggle the heads one at a time or both on together....
Like I said I don't have much time on dialing this in yet...Today I will try and see if removing that rear panel helps opening this 410 X up..
Also looking around today for a "variac" for speaker break in.....Maybe the new speakers are just stiff???
I'm just not use to hearing such lifeless sound coming from new speakers.....
All the speakers I have bought and used usually sound great right out of the box....
Thanks for your reply..
