Hi
First post here.
Just picked up a 2nd Hand Egnater Renegade 65w 112 combo.
In one word - RIDONKULOUS !!
I have owned many all tube amps - Fenders, Marshalls, Mesa's etc...... have been using my [ 27 year old ] Mark III for the last while ..... and am using a 1978 Ibanez Artist with a Dimarzio SD in the back [ with split / phase / humbucking ] and a Dimarzio PAF in the front [ again with split, phase and humbucking ]
NEVER.... and I mean NEVER EVER have I turned an amp on, simply put all the EQ controls on 12.00clock set CH 1 Gain to 11.00 clock and CH 2 Gain to 1.00 clock and hit musical heaven - it literally took less than 20 seconds to dial in 2 sounds I could immedialty gig and record with - no other tweaking at all - and it was already the best/nicest clean and hard-crunch I have ever had.
I do however have one issue - the cooling Fan is very noisy / very audible.
I have a couple of spare 120cm Noctua NF12 " silent " fans lying around from old PC builds - so I have a couple of very quick questions:-
-> I presume that to access the Fan I remove the rear-tube-area-guard ?
-> is there just one fan ?
-> is the existing Fan "soldered-in" / " hard-wired-in " ?
-> if not, will the Fan connector simply plug in or will I need to get out my trusty snips and soldering iron ?
Many thanks in advance,
Ben
