Guys,

My fan on the renegade seems louder than it should be. Any fixes for this. I bought it off someone on the forum so warranty is probably expired. any ideas what to do... its not overly loud but its just annoying... seems louder than it should be.

thoughts?

Search this forum and you'll find more than enough reading on the issue.

Yes, it's fixable but you need to contact customer service about it.

Read the other threads over the past 6 months and you'll get a clearer picture.

Mine was loud from the start...I don't notice it on gigs...At home I guess I've tuned it out but it's there...I think others have replaced it with a higher quality fan...One day I'll probably do the same but the fan doesn't bug me and It hasn't bled into any recordings i've done...

Seems like selecting a fan should be pretty simply right? fYI, there are literally thousands of fans available. We do use a good quality, plastic fan in our amps because they tend ot be quieter, not because they are cheap. Fans have noise, as well as airflow, specifications. We select the fan according to both specifications. The more airflow, the more noise. Nate (nate@egnateramps.com) has a new, quieter fan if the wind noise is an issue for you. The replacement fan does have somewhat reduced airflow but it still adequate for proper cooling.

Thanks Bruce! I must say I love this amp. I will contact Nate and see if I can get one of these new quieter fans. Is this an easy install or do you need a certified electrician to do this?

Again, Couldn't be happier with the amp sounds. Great quality amp and service!

Nate hooked me up and my fan is much quieter.

If a dead quiet amp in your rehearsal room is what you need, the Renegade is not for you.

But I can't even hear my new fan on a quiet stage due to ambient room noise.

Good luck.

ive actually never gigged with mine yet.. i notice it in my room ... its not terrible but its more of a buzzing not just the air. Maybe thats just how it is.... I can sacrifice the quiet fan will the power and tone this thing has ...

I've Just got a Renegade Head and 2x12 cab, and was a bit worried about the fan. I have a Marshall 9100 power amp and the fan in that used to bug the hell out of me but I've been amazed that playing the Renegade at 3 in the morning "quietly" that even then I can't hear the fan. Can it be that the older you get, as your hearing goes....that fan noise are the first frequencies that get fazed out. I can hear the fan when I'm sat in front of the amp not playing, but as I start playing nothing. Maybe the female voice frequencies are the next to go as I nearly always never hear my wife telling me to turn the volume down, co-incidence, I think I'm on to something here.......LOL

When I first got my amp, I could hear the fan in my little studio in the basement when sitting/standing next to it. Then I brought it the our rehearsal space and have barely heard it. I've been gigging also with it since March 2010 and it's never been an issue on stage. Never heard it. I actually been complemented about my tone more than ever by the crowd since I've started using the Renegade. No doubt, the best amp I've ever used for gigging!!!
