Hey yall, I'm new to the website. I was looking for some feedback on the Egnater Renegade and stumbled onto this place. Cool website!!! Anyway, I've had this rig for about 2 weeks, I couldn't be happier. I got the Renegade combo initially but realized it was too heavy for one armload (I'm old) so I took it back a day later and got the head and cabinet. I played through a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe but wasn't satisfied with the overall tone (farty low end, etc.) and features, plus I wanted something with more balls, for lack of a better word. This rig makes it easy to dial in a great tone at any volume, although I'm looking into getting a Tube Cube , Weber or some other attenuator to get the better tone for quiet recording. I can go from sparkly clean to roaring overdrive and everything in between. I get that sweet feedback I've been looking for, not the screachy, shitty sounding kind. My Strat, Les Paul and Godin Freeway Classic with Lollar P-90's sound great through this amp. It is very versatile and a blast to tweak. The Tube Mix feature rocks as well. I compared it side by side with the Bogner Alchemist. It wasn't even close. I'm a big fan of this amp if you can't tell. Great job guys!

Thanks for the kind words and welcome to the family!

Major upgrade there bro.

The Hot Rod Deluxe has a GREAT clean channel, and perhaps one of the worst drive channels I've ever heard. The channels are SO different, making the shared EQ useless... farty is a great description. I had a Blues Deluxe, and really considered it a one channel amp. I was tempted to just snap off the knobs for the drive and master...

Aren't amp upgrades fun?

Welcome to the Egnater Family!

Thanks guys. I don't have New Amp Day very often, it felt great! I do like the clean channel on the Hot Rod Deluxe but like you said, that's about it. The Egg has that covered and a lot more. Of course it costs a lot more but the bang for your buck factor is high on the Renegade IMO.

The Renegade is bringing a whole new meaning to bang for the buck.

Case in point: I have a friend who uses an Ultimate Attenuator because he can set two levels on it, one for lead, one for rhythm. He hasn't had much luck with 2 or 3 channel amps because he says the tone changes too much. No problem with the boost function on the Renegade. Doesn't change your tone, just boosts it. Works on one or both channels.

Welcome! I have the same setup as you.

Thanks man! Cool rig, aint it? I'm loving it so far.

Same here. The Renegade head+TM 2x12 is a great combination. A lot easier on the back than the combo as well - plus, I think it sounds beefier than the combo. I will be getting a Vintage 30 from Aeoric in the next week or so to try in the TM. I've been wanting to try the V30+E80 combo in that cabinet, since I really like that combination in the Renegade 2x12 combo. Now I just gotta find the rest of my band, so I can get this thing out and crank it!

I think you're right, I like the head and cabinet better. Seems tighter and punchier for lack of better words. I know what you mean, I'm dying to get out and crank this thing live!!!

It sounds even better live!! I been gigging with it for a month now and there is no going back to any other amp!! My tone search is finally over!!!

I hope to be gigging soon with the Egg. I have no doubt that it will fit the bill. I forgot to mention I played through a Dr. Z Galaxie combo. It was very nice but not as versatile as the Egg and it cost about 200 bucks more. I never got around to trying a Cornford, I have a friend who has one and loves it.

Are you guys going open back or closed back?

I started closed, but I think I like open better.

I think you guys will be pleased. I haven't heard one in a gig situation, but man we opened her up pretty good here at the house and it was fantastic.
