Long story short,
I did a re-tube of my Renegade head within the last couple of days and the situation was that before installing the new tubes, I biased old tubes down to about 45 mv on both sides as I have read that from another poster on here. When I installed new tubes and powered up , ..immediately the EL 34 side was reading like 80 mv.... Ahggg!!! so right away, I turned down the dial and set that side to 70- 72.
But, now I have a situation happening when I'm on stand-by and then switch to play.....
the reading drops down to 67 mv and takes about 5min. to crawl back up to 70 - 72.
And the reading bounces around at 69.5 - 71.5....not real steady at all....
Did I damage the tubes??? Were they bad Tubes to begin with?? Amp problem cropping up??
Or am I just having a hypocondriac moment and this is normal???
Any help and advice would be appreciated.

Just got home from work and thought I would check the board.... Hmmm ... no answers,.
Well, maybe, hopefully,... Bruce or Ian will be floating around tomorrow to give me some insight.
Might fly an E-mail Nate's way too....
But, Hey too, anyone feel free to chime in whenever...
Have a good one,...

Sounds ok to me. It's good to switch the amp off standby for about ten minutes before biasing to let the power tubes get stabilized. If it was me I'd get it biased close and then leave the amp on for a day to burn the tubes in some and then check the bias again.

Then you can see if the bias wanders any. Not sure what causes that

 .

Thanks BBP, for the suggestion....
Gonna give that a try today...I think I do remember after changing tubes in the Rebel20 I had a while back , that the burn in thing was good to acheive a consistancy in tone.. " Breaking" in period of sorts maybe.
That whole "drop,... rise,... and then bounce" thing just has me worried cause the Rebel didn't act like that.
Gonna also see if it's doing this on the 6L6 side today , too. Didn't have time yesterday to mess with that.
Will update further to this post after today.
