I'm currently running a Rebel20 through FOUR 1 x 12 Rebel Cabs

If I bought a Renegade Head, could I run it through the four rebel cabs?

Hi tommysixgun,

Yes you can, the speakers don't have to match the amp model, you just have to consider the wattage and impedance of amp and speaker(s). The Rebel ext cab is 16 ohms, and can handle at least 30 watts per cab (not sure of the max rating), so four of them together would be 4 ohms, and at least 120 watts. The Renegade only puts out 65 watts, so you won't overload four speakers.

Typically you can use just about any speakers that you want with any head, as long as the amp wattage doesn't exceed the speakers ability to use the power (example, don't try to push a 100 watt amp through a single 30 watt speaker). Match the amp impedance selector to the total speaker impedance for most efficient operation of the amp (most power out). Four Rebel cabs would give you a 4 ohm total speaker load. I use an 8-ohm Fender 1x12 cab with my 40 head. :scared: The amp is 40 watts, the speaker cab is 50 watts, perfect. And the amp is set to 8 ohms to match the speaker, perfect.

The Rebel Cabs have Celestion Elite 80's rated at I believe 80 watts each.

Thanks for the replies. I actually traded in 2 of my 1x's, added some cash and I got a 2x Tourmaster cab. Tonight I came out of my Univibe (stereo) and into both Egnaters...I'm a happy boy
