1) What controls the volume of the Direct Out. The Master 1/Master 2, channel volume, or is it fixed at 0dB or something?

2) Does Master 1/Master 2 basically function as a built-in attenuator? So how hot I push the power tubes is completely determined by the channel volumes, and M1/M2 are just attenuating the output before going to the speaker?

3) I know I can try this out when I get home, but assuming that M1/M2 do not control the Direct Out level, then can I run the amp with M1/M2 all the way down, but with the channel volumes cranked - basically creating a built in load box setup?

Thanks!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think any master volumes actually work as attentuators, POST power tubes.

The master volume is another volume control, in line, after the preamp tubes, but still before the power tubes.

The direct level is the same level as you are playing. So if you are playing at bedroom level the direct out is at the same level. If you are playing Ted Nugent levels its at the same! It's sending all the same stuff the speaker cable is. Just with a filter on it to sound like a speaker is being micd up!

Good questions! The direct out is AWESOME!!!

Haven't tried it yet, but have heard good things. I'm def. not complaining at all, so don't take it that way, but the "silent" option that the Rebel 30 has would've been a killer add to the Renegade. But, I guess I can accomplish that with a Hot Plate or Weber, so no biggie... The Renegade rules!
