Renegade tone - Please enlighten me

hey guys
looking for an amp that
channel 1: does THICK luscious yet tight cleans that can go bluesy if you wanted to
channel 2: nice marshally fat/thick drive with tightness but not stiff and overly tight (ie. don't want any 80's hair metal marshall sounds)

does the renegade do this? Are there any good quality clips anywhere (properly mic'ed)?

Yes, this is exactly what the Renegade can do. You should try one out if you can. Be sure and give it some time.....tweak those switches and let those tubes warm up. It's a killer amp.
 
I just picked one up, I like gain, but currently just playing the clean channel cause its addicting, lots of blues nail zz top jesus just left chicago and beer drinkers and hellraisers, gain channel is high gain as you can go without losing tone
 
Oh nice.. what's the build quality like? Is it made in China? Or?

Renegade will do the tones you describe well. Yes, its made overseas. The one I saw was built extremely well.

I think somewhere in Asia, thats why I didnt say for sure. My guess would be China.
 
I got a Renegade head last month. Very happy with it -- YES, I think it can do what you described. In fact, if I were to describe the amp without reading what you wrote - I would say almost the same thing. Of course, that's your description of the tone in your head so try one out for yourself.

Build quality is good. Seems very solid -- I have no concerns over that.

HOWEVER...I still haven't jammed with anyone yet so the amp hasn't passed the "mix test" yet. Which, for me is, "can the tone of the amp cut through the mix or does it just sit there?" This is where the amp concerns me a little. I have a couple of great amps that really cut through when I need them too. By comparison, I don't think this amp has that type of character (which will be a disapointment). It has great features (very versatile) and sounds great by itself, but I don't know if it will pass the test.
