I was thinking about picking up a 1x12 Renegade combo for smaller gigs and rehearsal. How does the Renegade compare to the Mod 50? I'm running a DLX and VX module in the Mod 50.

I got to play/listen side by side a few months ago and I'm tellin' ya, if I didn't have my Mod, I'd likely have a Renegade. I felt the channels were more like the Bassman/SL2 though, or something close. For me, it's a great amp for my style of blues/classic/hard rock. Don't really know how "sparkly" the clean channel can get, but it did sound very good.

I have compared them side by side as well and the Mod 50 is more harmonically rich. I have the TD and SL2 modules and that is a setup that is hard to beat. There is a reason why the Mod 50 is 1500 more, and it is just not the higher labor costs of building them here

Mod 50, more rich and harmonically complex, more versatile, quieter, thicker, etc. Renegade is nice but I thought it was a little more harsh.
