I've heard that Carvin routing is very specific to their pickups alone. How different are they really from any other pickups? They can't be that different, if at all. I want to replace them because Carvin passives FUCKING SUCK ASS!!!! It's like they have a bass frequency maxed higher than every pickup on earth combined. I was looking to replace the pickups with a X2N, Fast-Track 2, and PAF Pro, but will they fit (it's a H-S-H setup)?? I can't seem to find anything on the Int3rn3tZ about Carvin pickup spacing or anything. Help me out!!

You'll probably have to do some routing to get them to fit, I think they're too narrow, but I don't really remember

I had no trouble getting humbuckers to fit (swapped in a Rio Grande BBQ) but the single route is a bummer. It's the smaller emg style rather than the tri-oval Jackson style. So you need to get a skinny pickup for the single or do a little routing. In all honesty I think their single coils sound pretty good.

Ehh, I never use single coils, I don't like them. Was thinking maybe a hotter single (like the Fast Track 2) would be usable for me, but meh, if I can get the humbuckers to fit, that's all that matters.

I quite like the stock (higher output) pups in my Carvins - in fact, my maple & poplar 127 sounds incredible through my Einstein. Never mind. I will swap them out for BKPs when I can afford to.

I have heard, though that you may need to shave a couple of mm off the replacement humbucker pup's base plate to make it fit. This should work and will avoid having to do any routing. You may also need to replace the pup rings or drill new holes if they're direct mounted - the pups I have have 2 + 1 height adjusting screws, not 1 on each side.
