Revisting DT: Train of Thought

I almost always give our sound systems the "As I Am" treatment to see what kind of volume limits we're dealing with.

Now that you mention it... That record has some cool shit on it. I remember buying it when it came out, but I'm really no fan of Dream Theater, nor the genre, so I haven't played it in... 7 years? Ripping it as we speak. This one is going on my iPhone for tomorrows 16-hour travel.

I really love that record. One of my favorite DT albums.

Love ToT. A lot of Dream Theater fans hate it because it marked the end of their more "proggy" albums, but I think it's awesome and has tons of killer riffs on it.

Yeah, I'm one of those fans that dislike it in comparison to their earlier works. Even though I've never liked it as a whole and have dogged it from time to time.....I can't deny that it's got some great songs, sections, riffs, etc....like "As I Am", "Stream Of Consciousness", and "In The Name Of God."

Go and download or "buy" the new Lick Library Jam With Dream Theater DVD. 7 killer tracks( including As I Am) all fully broken down note by note and also fully performed by Andy James.
Including full backing tracks for each tune. These Lick Library instructional DVDs are the best.
No I don't work for them I just have every single one of their titles. I literally must have about 200 of them!! Thank you internet.

Proopably the last decent DT album.Octavarium and the rest were simply inaudible.
