Revv Generator 7-40 or Engl Ironball E606 for home?

Looking at either of these for mainly home use for playing around with some chugging metal tones. I can get both amps for about the same price (Revv is about $200 more but used vs the Engl which is new).

Any thoughts?

If that was under $1300 cdn and really available to me I would consider it lol

The ironball is probably the more versatile.
Revvs are cool, fun at first, and super tight, but get old fast imo due to lack of any character.
What are you ultimately going for? What's most important to you?

Just something fun and different than my 70s marshall. I don't need a bunch of bells and whistles. Also for my kid to play around with as he is starting to get into 7 string downtuned stuff.

I wouldn't discount the 6505MH if you want small. Very inexpensive. Shit, if you're looking used, an EVH 50 watt 6L6 is one of the best for lower volume. I prefer the Stealth though.

But I really love my Fireball 25. I have the Limited Edition KT77 model. It's a little beast, and I've held onto it for 8 months, (which is a record for me!) 🤣

And then came along a Randall RD45 head into the .mix for the same price.

Any thoughts on the Randall?

They're great amps after you put in good tubes and bias warmer. Ditch the Chinese 6L6's and put in JJ's and bias to 36mA, (they're cold stock, like 28-32mA).
