...of being altered. LOL.
I am going through a stressful period right now guys trying to determine how I want to run my rig.
I am running into time trouble at rehearsal and I know I will at gigs. With an Egnater head, rack, cab and pedalboard......setup/teardown is tough.
I am considering the Egnater M4 or Ramdall RM4/Egnater IE4 with a Randall RT2/50. One less thing (the head) and faster set up because the rack will be ready to go....just plug in the cab and pedalboard.
I could also go back to all pedals and maybe even ditch the effects loop for ease of set up. I have a friend who uses a JCM 800 with some pedals up front and nothing more. Sounds great! Hmm
Rhythm tones are the easy part...I could go straight into the head. Problem is with cleans where I like chorus and some verb at times. With my rack, I hit the midi controller and it does everything. I hate pedal dancing! For leads, I like having the EQ, compressor and delay in the loop. With a head and pedals up front it gets tough. However, I loved the ease of set up and my tones when i was in Jaded Faith the last few gigs with nothing but my head and some pedals.
The E2/New Egnater slim power amp in a rack with effects is also a really interesting idea. Light too! That could replace my Mod 50. I find the Mod 50 to be very warm which I love and I would hope the new Egnater power amp would follow along.
I guess my big decision is do I stay, go head/pedals or all rack.
Although...I will say some of the best tones I had in the last few years were when I didn't have the rack and just some effects up front. UGH! Stressful.
