Right hand slowing down, left palm swelling up

Not sure this is all entirely age related, but damn, maybe I should give up. I can barely play basic chords anymore, my left hand starts swelling up between by thumb and my index finger.

And my right arm is slowing down as well, I can't seem to get any speed out of it at all. It just starts to hurt along my elbow and my tricep. Even my fingers hurt when I hold the plectrum.

Just plain sucks. I guess I'm doomed to just being a mediocre guitarist. I don't even think I can play the material I've written anymore, my body can't keep up with it.

Try the carnivore diet and watch things get better brother. I basically eat beef, bacon and eggs only for the most part and alot of things have improved. The biggest lie in the medical industry is cholesterol, it is a repair molecule. Do your own research. I pray things get better for you my friend!

Tell me about this. I seem to play better or more correct while standing. But when I play I wanna be part lazy; so I sit. Something doesn’t jive though. If I might ask: what is can’t play right mean. What do you see, feel and hear ?

I second this. And the rare times I play sitting it’s classical position, body between the legs and trying to remember to keep an upright posture.

Thanks, guys. I turn 42 this year. Wake up with my hands aching most days. I'm going to try the carnivore/keto diet things and see my doctor about getting some anti-inflammatory medicine.

Doesn't help that I have a job in front of a computer where I'm typing or using a mouse all the time. Sitting with your hands extended in front of you is one of the worst/weirdest kinds of postures possible.

But most of all. going to stop playing guitar for a week or two and see if it helps. I can't even hold my drumsticks anymore, after playing for a bit, my hands just start to seize up and start paining.

Have a couple of amps coming in soon (I hope). Maybe that'll be my miracle cure, lol
