Oh man, this is a hell of a loss. I knew Mark and I know Mike from Riot also since they're friends and clients of the guitar shop I used to work for. I spent quite a few times BSing with Mark about his old Charvels that got lost on a tour, got to work on a few of his Les Pauls and even play his '59 burst (yeah he had a real one). He was a real nice guy and of course and amazing player. This really sucks even more since the new album just came out and is amazing and he never got a chance to even tour for it. 56 is way too young to go. RIP Mark you'll certainly be missed and not forgotten.

Man, it seems like yesterday when I first met him while in high school in the late seventies. Thanks for the great tunes. Prayers to his dad as well for his loss. Godspeed Mark.

Oh no! This sux. Ive been a huge Riot fan since I was 15. RIP my man. See you at The Altar of the King!

Man, this really sucks. RIP Mark..........

If I had a penny for every time Fire Down Under blasted through my speakers I'd be a fucking billionaire.....

Just a shame that Mark, and Riot never got the respect they deserved. I mean, think back for a moment..... When Thundersteel came out, NOBODY was doing power metal like that! Certainly no American bands. Riot just always seemed to have a black cloud that loomed over them, yet they always continued on..........much respect.

I'm sorry to hear this about Mark. Riot had some very cool stuff.

i know its later era RIOT (i know alot of you only dig the old school   )

But i fucking love this cd and song !!

Cool band back when I was growing up...the other guitar player in my band turned me on to him and we played a couple of their tunes. I was floored by their later albums, sounded Yngwie-ish when not many people could get that style back then. The earlier stuff sounded like he was influenced by Schenker...very good player with good tone. Made me want to play a LP back then when I was playing Kramers  RIP Mark
