Here is a board we just did for Anthrax/Damned Things guitarist Rob Caggiano. Its centered arounf the Musicom Labs switcher and all pedals are in front of the Fryette amps he uses. The Musicom also does the channel switching on the Fryette. Standout on this board was the Death By Audio Interstellar Overdrive Deluxe. Very cool pedal. Ebjoy

Super nice work Dave. The cable routing is great! The death by audio pedal does look interesting, will have to check that one out.
What type of cable and connectors do you use?

Mogami 2319 and Neutrik and Switchcraft clone ends.

Dave you do some of the cleanest wiring I've ever seen. Looks awesome. Where do you get those mains power connectors on the sides of the board?

Is the order as straight forward as it seems? Wah -> top row right to left -> boost -> Death By Audio-pedal?

Yeah wah-musicom - comp-od's-gate-phase-flange-ddl-rev

Great job Dave, the wiring alone gives me wood. I cant say that I dig that big gap but thats an aesthetics thing and Im weird that way.

A couple of questions;

Why the Musicom instead of the PEC-2 or Loopholic?(ever use a loopholic?)

Wh the G-Lab power unit? how did you power every thing with it as there are more effects than there are outs on the G-lab. Also, how strategic do you have to be with placement of the power unit under the board? will it cause any noise if under specific pedals?

Is everything front of amp or does anthing go through am fx loop?

Thanks

Kage

Nice work dave, the last time i saw robs rig it was marshals and a mess of a pedalboard. This will surely make his life easier as on that tour he was having major pedalboard issues. Bravo!

The musicom was used because he needed to do amp channel switching. I have not used the loopholic yet.
The glab has no hum field what so ever you can set a wah on top of it with no hum. Some things on this board are chained to power them. Also everything is in front of the amp.

If you are using no rackmount effects, do you recommend running everything in front of the amp? Even the reverb and delay units?

Do you always put the gate before the phase / flange / delay and reverb? I've seen people put the gate and volume control as the last part of the chain and am looking into which theory is best for me.

If I understand correctly, the wah is before the switcher and not a switched effect correct?

Thanks Dave... trying to learn some from your expertise.

Yeah wah is not switched and it was his choice to put everything up front.

As far as the gate it should go after the overdrives before time based stuff.

Thanks Dave.

Would you ever consider having the wah switched if you had the space for it in order to totally bypass it if it was not in use? Or is that counterproductive?

I'm sure either way it goes first in the chain right?

also regarding the gate... If you are using only amp distortion... no distortion / compression / overdrive pedals... would you say there is no need for a gate since it goes before all of the other effects in the chain (except the wah)?

Yeah no need. Oh and its just easier to stomp on a wah at will then stick it in a loop.
