A rare bird here - Roccaforte Custom 40 head in good condition with no major issues. A few little nicks here and there, but overall what I would consider pretty clean. Not a lot of these were made. This is the lower wattage version of the fabled Custom 80 amp. Doug sure knew how to make them, as the build quality is beyond just about anything you will find on the market these days. Mercury Magnetics transformers and impecable wiring. Tone wise - I consider it to sound like a cross betweeen a vintage Marshall and a HiWatt. Hit it with a pedal and it can get downright crushing. Just a killer amp overall, but I am not gigging anymore and would love for someone to play and enjoy it properly. As far as I know, I am the 2nd owner.
One minor and absolutely necessary tweak that was done to this amp - the gain and volume pots have been changed from linear taper pots to audio taper pots. If you read up on Roccaforte amps, arguably the #1 issue you will read about is how they go from very quiet to insanely loud at a touch of the knob. This is because, for some reason, Doug used linear taper pots in these positions. Swapping volume and gain out to audio taper pots creates a much more usable range for this amp and the ability to really shape the tone - but no change to the character of the amp. Comes with a solid state rectifier, but you can swap it out for a tube rectifier if you choose. It's a killer amp! $2,000 OBO packed and shipped lower 48 only. No trades.
