Rocktron Utopia Rack System - From the 80"s. Thoughts on buidling one of these today. Waste of money by todays standard?
Or maybe the ISP Theta Pro DSP is most, if not all of this old tech and would pretty much sound the same. At half the price?

Has anyone had this system? Your thoughts on how it sounded? At that time, It was a modern rack system. Not trying to emulate or model anything specific.

I remember wanting one of these systems when I was younger.
I welcome anyone and everyone's feedback on this.

I had a Rocktron Pro Q
And Intellifex and Intelliverb love them all

Thoughts?

Let me know.
Cheers
Jamie

Used to run Velocity 300 power amps a bit back when I was doing the rack thing and I liked them quite a bit. I actually liked it more than my Marshall 50/50 EL34 Power amp.

I love the old Rocktron rack gear..a lot of underrated stuff. Here is my small collection, wish I had more.. The preamps are always cool because they have pre-distortion eq to play with.

The Pro Gap, the Intelliverb, Intellifex and the Velocity 300 were/are quality stuff. The Pro Gap is/was one of the better SS preamps out there. And I ran the Velocity for a bit as well.

I ran a Pro-Gap through a Marshall Valvestate for my first couple of years playing out and it really delivered. Extremely natural tube sounding gain for a completely SS rig.
