Which is better sounding with the VH4 the Rocktron Xpression or T.C. Electronic G-Major? Or if anyone can recommend something else around the same prices range.

I would suggest a Rocktron Intellifex. You can get those quite cheap and they sound great. The G-Major offers more but quality-wise I liked the Intellifex better and I didn't need the extra features.

Pro Major: Tuner, Switching Outs, easier to tweak, good delays, mediocre reverbs
Con Major: needs stereo/mono-fix, build qualtity sucks - if you're a bedroom rocker, no problem - if you gig: stay away IMO

Pro Xpression: "nice" sounding (standard fx like verbs, delays, chorus), easy to change from series operation to parallel
Con Xpression: not as easy to tweak as others, boring flashing tap LED (easy fix though), no tuner

I was asked several times at gigs to tape the LEDs in my Diezels, esp. at smaller/club gigs.
Sometimes I've taped them, sometimes I didn't.
Depended who has asked me and if she was hot - or not ;) :D

i just bought an xpression after owning a gmajor....

the gmajor was cool for the first 6 months i owned it....then it started falling apart...it would freeze on me in the middle of shows leaving me with no output at all. the buttons and knobs are so cheap its awful. its too bad cuz i liked the interface and the sound was decent. but the thing is completely unreliable for live touring. such a disappointment. i also hated the tuner on it so don't look at that as a plus.

just bought the xpression and so far i love it. i think the sounds are excellent and just as good if not a lot better than the gmajor. i find the interface is very easy to use once you read the manual and just play with it for a few minutes. it has 5 knobs....its not that complicated. took me 5 minutes to figure out how to set up my herbert and xpression to be controlled by my dmc ground control pro....(though im thinkin about getting a diezel columbus...cuz its smaller and built better than the ground control.. )
so far after 2 months of touring with the xpression...i can tell it will last longer than the gmajor did. there are less cheap parts to break and cause malfunctions.

thats the thing i've noticed with rocktron products they may not have fancy displays and have really cool looking designs but the quality is in the sound...and reliability and the those are the two most important things.

and the tap tempo light isnt really that bad...especially when the herbert has more blue flashing lights than anything i own. i acutally think the xpression light looks cool in my rack.

lol .....hope you at least got some when you taped the leds that time :D

And what about the G-Force? Is it really The ´another league´ , than these two about is this topic, or it´s no so big diffeence?
Thanks

i havent played a gforce, but from all accounts i've heard its a step up in terms of quality of sound and programability in contrast to the gmajor and xpression. after all the bad experiences with how cheap the gmajor was built im very skeptical about buying anymore tc electronic rack gear. the g system seems to be the best thing they make by far.

Thanks! This is a really good info. Think I'm leaning towards the Xpression.

Do either one of them alter the tone at all? That is one of my biggest complaints with stomp boxes. :gethim:

My Xpression arrived today.. You guys were right on about the flashing blue led!!
Holy $h{T You could land a plane with it!
