Does this matter at all in terms of tone? Did I get the right EL 34 SED's? I'm going into the studio tomorrow at 2 p.m. and am going to get the SED's thown in right before so i've got a bit of a time constraint..

Also how should they be biased? two are rated at PC 27 and the other two are rated at PC28

The Ruby EL34B's seem a lot bigger, wider almost as tall as the skinny EL34 SED's..

I think the EL34B's are only 6-8 months old.. should I just go into the studio with the amp 'as is' I don't percieve things getting a lot more 'cardboard' sounding .. but who know's

What amp are you planning on installing them into?

Personally, when I compared the two in my Herbert, the Ruby EL34B-STRs were by far the most flexible tone-wise and amazingly expressive. I would also suggest a bias setting of no more than 32mA and no less than 30mA.

They are going into the VH4.. YEa I don't want to change them last minute and run into problems, maybe i'll just stick with what i've got fer now, and save the SED's for a different song.

The amp's tonality may change with teh tube change n' so I may need the extra time..
