Will I notice much tone change going from the JJ's to the Rubys? Tech threw them in and said they were superior to the jj's?

I wouldn't think the difference would be that dramatic. What are your initial thoughts since the re-tube?

Certainly sounds refreshed! Sounds BIG! seems to be a little more rounded. Im thinking it sounds tighter too! Need more time, but yea I think we did good!

Any new thoughts on the Ruby's? I have to re-tube my '97 XTC101B (currently w/JJEL34), and have been considering the Ruby.

There are 2 flavors of Rubys. The EL34STR and the EL34BHT. When I had my white chassis 101b the plate voltage was very high and it tubes. I then upon recommendation from Doug (Doug's Tubes) tried the BHT, as it is made for high plate voltage amps. The upside was that it was a really balanced tube and never had to replace them.
