Hi

I'm considering to buy a 1x12 Marshall Cab (because there is no Diezel 1x12 ;) ) - 16 Ohm, 66 Watt, V30

I want to use this box only in the studio. Will it be blown away when i start Herbert or will the box survive the recording sessions on moderate level? (Master at about 9 o' clock)

Most likely won't be a problem. I used to run a Bogner cube with 16ohm v30, although I had the amp on 8ohm mode. That said the results I had from this setup didn't really impress me. IMO EVM12L is the way to go in 1x12 setups with Diezels, you may not even miss 4x12s after running this little setup. If you are doing metal you might really wanna check the front loaded mesa thiele with evm12L.

i have a large lopo 1x12 (sealed cab) that sounded really thin and boxy no matter what. i used a mesa c90, a vintage 30, and an eminence swamp thangs. it farted at nearly high volumes even with the swamp thangs being rated at 150 watts.

i started looking into porting the cab so i searched online. i have never done this or had any experience playing ported cabs. i did a little googling and got the info (port size, internal volume, etc) and proceeded to port my lopo.

all i can say is 'holy crap!' it does work. i'm really happy with it. it's like a whole different cab and it could actually hang in there with my mesa oversized 412. the best speaker in there out of all three i tried is the high powered eminence. i did a side by side comparison and the ported lopo can dish out nearly as much tight and punchy bottom end as the mesa 412. it only started to fart slightly (doing palm mutes) with the channel volumes at noon and the master at noon (LOUD!). this is a 112 i'm talking about.

bottom line, if i were to get a 112, i would get a ported or semi open back cab with high power speaker in it like an eminence or the EV.

I have my avatar OS 1x12 with added insulation inside with Black Label EVM12L. I run a 100wt Einstein with volumes at 12:00 & master about 2:00 & no farting of any kind   with whatever style of playing you wanna do. I play this rig next to a half stack with no problems at all. The only advantage I see from a 2x12 or a 4x12 is more of that wood in the sound. I even use this rig as a bass rig for practice & it works just fine.

I have run my VH4 and my Herbert with a Marshall 1912, which is an 8 ohm, 150 watt stock Celestion and it sounded great. Don't be afraid to turn it up either.

Until Diezel introduces a 1x12 cab, Bogner ported cube is the way to go IMHO!

??? they have a 1x12 (i own one!). iirc, you can select between a V30 and a G12H30.
