Running a CCM and CCV at the same time?

I have been messing around with running two amps at the same time now for a while.

Since Mark is here maybe he might be able to answer but would running a CCM and CCV at the same time yield to good results?

I think I am after Steve_K on the list for a CCV and a CCM so I plan on running these at the same or at least attempting too unless it is not a good idea?

I found that when I am running multiple amps everything goes good with my old Superbass head but sometimes when you run two high gain heads together at the same time the results are not as good.

I think it will sound great. They both have things the other does not. Nick could give you a better idea....he kind of has both and I think has done this. I think he might have a clip but Im not sure.

Hey thanks for the reply Mark I look forward to getting them, in case you dont know its Jason, we spoke back in March. I look forward to getting the amps.

I did it for a bit.... very massive...the modern is tighter...so I dialed the ccv very open and tight to match it up

I'd like to try this as well. I'm on the list for a CCM and my CCV should be done soon.

I would think there would be too much overlap running them both together to accomplish anything. Not sure what it is you would be after in doing that. Also, I can't even begin to imagine the CCM having more gain than the CCV unless it has just a totally different sterile voicing. The CCV already blows your hair back enough

If the CCM is going to be voiced that much different, I could see having both to A/B for different songs in a gig, or with a preamp routed through one for a WDW hook-up.

Hey Steve,

How much gain do the Wizard MC's have when they have that gain mod done to them?

Thanks,
John

It made all the difference in the MC, especially not being able to open up the volume. Gave it loads more of useful gain at normal volumes. It is more like a saturation mod as the normal MC was so focused and tighter than tree bark. Again, the tone of the MC is very Marshall-esque, and much different from Mark's boxes.

I was thinking the same thing as you Steve but if Mark says it's go I am going to do it.

Hell yeah! I would like to hear a CCM....and, he would be the one to know. What a chest-pounding rig that would be.
