Probably a stupid question but is it safe to run the rebel 20 head without the wooden chassis/case?

Just curious- why would you want to do this? My guess it would run, but makes it a lot more vulnerable- dust, flying beer bottles... Also aren't there sometimes wires and stuff attached to the case?

If you are careful enough ---------------------> Yes it is safe .

:)

Hi guys and thanks for the replies. I'm thinking of running it out of the case as I wanted to put it under a shelf in my studio desk and the cab off to one side, this way I can have easy access to the controls when recording, I only use the egnater in the studio so its unlikely to get knocked etc.

Sweetrock - When you say careful, what exactly would that entail, are we talking about touching parts of it or just being careful of the wires underneath etc?

The wires and all of the electrical parts underneath .

:)

There is a metal shield inside the box that really should be in place. I'm still not sure I understand why the amp in the box can't sit on this shelf. I don't like the idea.

Hi Bruce, thanks for the reply. I wanted to put the head without the case under my screens on my studio desk, its only a small space with things above and below that I can't move so I'm just trying to fit the amp in where I can. If however there is a danger to the amp or myself then I won't try it but I'd like to if it can be done safely.
