Scary vs SL2X ..

hey there all in modular land.
I used to have modular set up and I am tempted to go back.
The one mod I dug was the Lynch Scary on top of loving the tone .it had a unique bounce and chewiness to the mids.
First of is this just compression that will give this kinda sag and relaxed mids.
Is it present in the EGG Marshall Models the Sl2 and SL2X
Is it present in the Freidman BE and HBE

Not sure about the Scary mod, but when I had the SL2x and my '79 Marshall JMP, I could get the exact same (not "just close") tone out of both, with Channel A of the SL2x. I really liked channel B a lot too, which had a bit thicker mids and plenty of gain.
