Scatterwound mismatched higher resistance Low output PAF

Bare Knuckle VHII is a good one
Gas Pickups Gastation is the best one (not mismatched though)

Greg @ Jalen will wind that for you.

Probably Jeff @ HighOrder, as well.

The higher resistance/low output/PAF-type conflict a little. You would probably want an A3 magnet (maybe even degaussed a little). I know @scottosan likes A3 in some of his winds. But that is right in Jeff @High Order wheelhouse too.

I have a alnico 3 magnet pickup in my neck position Gibson Les Paul and it sounds real good

If Scottosan starts up production again I’m sure he could hook you up. I honestly think the lower output pups have more tone. Imo…. Read it on the interwebz….

Terry Kilgore gave me a High Order PAF type pickup with an A3 magnet. I put it in the neck position of an Ibanez Artist. Sounded killer. Jeff knows tone.

What pickup company makes one.
What are you trying to accomplish? A lot of winders like to play buzzword bingo Handwound doesnt mean scatterwound and the best PAFs made to date are machine wound. Scattered winding lowers the a-factor of the resonant peak, which think of the a-factor as the intensity of frequency of the resonant peak. A high q-factor is like the I g that frequency to ten. It may cut, but it could also be spikey. So, adding scatter tend to make the attack and to softer and more linear. Offset the coils results in less frequency’s canceling each other out between the coils giving it more spike in certain frequencies. So, between true scatterwinding and offsetting the coils seems counter intuitive.

As for higher resistant but lower output, you have 2 options. Either a weak magnet or going with a higher guage wire with less winds. With the latter, it’s no longer a PAF by definition.

A3 is a great choice to tame mud in the neck and I really like them in the bridge if wound to around 8.7k or higher. A3s sound great with clean and high gain although the won’t push your amp

This here is the asymmetric wind 8.9kΩ Jeff @ HighOrder wound for me back in 2010..

I agree. I've never had any thoughts of replacing the stock pickups in my '61 SG. Under high gain, they sound nasty with great clarity. Great chunk, and screaming lead tones. The '60s Burstbuckers sound great.

That goes back to the pickup that Eddie Van Halen pulled out of his 1961 Gibson es335 which was a 1961 paf, so when Seymour Duncan supposedly did a rewind of Eddie pickup how would Seymour know it was a alnico 2 magnet vs a short alnico 5 which 1961 paf was a short alnico 5. The Seymour Duncan 78 pickup is alnico 2 vs alnico 5
