So, for the past few years Ive dabbled in all mid/high end guitars( up to the $4500 range) and up until now told myself I would never buy a sub $1k guitar. So, I've been playing the Schecter guitars at gc every time I go and can't help but be impressed with them for the price. Im really liking the Blackjack sls and the new hybrid hellraiser. The made in korea tag is starting to mean less and less to me and they seem to feel better than some of the stuff tagged at over $1500 and made in "better parts." I've also played a few of the USA made models and was thoroughly impressed. A Schecter may be in my near future. Anyone else experience this? Post your Schecters if you got em!

Used to own two Schecter Custom Shop CETs. Love their guitars

Haven't tried the guitars but I am very happy with my Schecter 8 string bass.

ive played them, they are really nice and priced right...

2004 Schecter S1 Elite. Been my main guitar for almost 10 years now. Love the feel, but I want to change the pickups - they're "Duncan Designed".

I've owned the Jerry Horton model since last summer and I'm in love. The neck is super sweet and the finish is bad ass. I've gotten more compliments on this guitar than others worth four times as much.

I've have two Schecter before, a C-1 Exotic and a C-1 ATX. I don't have either anymore, but both were pretty solid, especially for the price.

They're alright guitars, it's too bad most look so horrible.

KM7.....couldn't find a more solid 7 under a grand. Hipshot bridge, SD Nazgul/Sentient pups, SS frets, ebony board, Luminlay fret markers, carbon fiber reinforcement rods in the neck. All around good guitar and surprised me for what it cost.

I picked up this C1+ last week for $269 + tax (used). It plays awesome... the pickups sound like crap but I plan on get some replacements soon.

I used to have a Blackjack and I loved that guitar. They come with a JB/59 setup.

I still have my C1 Exotic....plus one of their new black satin hell raiser models (made in China?) based on the C1

The Exotic really has some nice tone to it and I put an MCP Afwayu in the Bridge to make it breathe fire.

The Hell raiser probably isn't as good as the Red Cherry Korean one I had a few years back.....feels a bit soul less with the EMGs but it's a very consistent guitar, keeps tune well.

The BJ SLS is a sweet guitar.
I LOVE my Schecter, it's a C1-Classic.
It easily rivals my new made in Japan ESP Eclipse.
The SC feels better in my hands, plays cleaner with lower action, and has a better tone in comparison to the ESP.
Both have a JB bridge, C1 has Jazz neck, and ESP has '59 neck.

Schecter makes really nice guitars.
Also, you can find my thread on here about their awesome customer service.
My original 2005 C1 was faulty, seems the bridge was installed incorrectly when it was made.
I contacted Schecter and asked them about what can be done.
Tech said it's likely a defect and to send it in.
I did and they warranted the guitar by giving me a brand new C1-Classic reissue.
I paid around $600 w/no case in late '05. The reissue goes for around $700-$800 no case.
The ESP cost me around $1300 w/case.

This C1 one sounds even better than my original, and feels better too even though they are supposed to be the same guitar.
Neck through guitars are awesome for tone and sustain.
The C1 is my second neck-through guitar. My first was a 1982 Gibson Explorer II.
Get a Schecter. As you've experienced, it belies it's price point.

Well, spent most of my day at Guitar Centers, yes multiple gc's as Im going crazy having 2 weeks off between my job transition. Although I left with a brand new PRS custom 24(ngd thread coming soon) I stand by everything I said about Schecters, they really are amazing guitars for the price point. Im really digging the new hybrid series and I think thats what I will end up with. I was playing the USA custom shops again at the boston ma gc and they are outstanding. A bit on the expensive side though, that would take a lot of "brand" commitment to spend over $3k on a Schecter. What I will also say is I may finally be moving on from Wolfgangs
as a side note I also found out that the schecters are coming out of the same factory that makes pre se and ltd guitars.

They're nice guitars, especially for the money. It seems like they've rectified most of their QC issues that plagued them a few years ago.

whether a guitar is good or bad has very little to do with the price tag because your ears can't here $$, your hands can't feel $$....if it feels good, if it sounds good then um it is good

Here ya go. Chunk of mahogany, thick maple cap, ebony board...some sold electronics and hardware. The stock pickups are pretty great for a wide variety of sounds, coil taps too.
