What kind of setup were you using on the first SOD album? That distortion tone was sick!

My 81 Gibson V and my 82 Randy Rhoads were the guitars.
Marshall JCM 800 with a TC Electronic Booster/Distortion in front of it.
And my right hand.

I think I wanna look for one of those old TC Boosters!

Also, Duncan JB pickups, 6550 tubes, and old G12-80 Celestions.

Man Scotts tone was the SHIT!!!
We play tons of Anthrax stuff every weekend and just cant NAIL that tone!!

Come close though....... :D

Get a 2210 and a TC Boost. Throw an EQ in the loop to taste and your there.

His sound on that first SOD album is one of my favorite "tones" of all time, just rippin'

just the coolest sound to come from that period. but i still have too say the guitar sound on metallicas' cover of helpless...damn that freakin' makes me want to play along.

The Wait, The Small hours too.

If i remember, didn't they're studio burn to the ground? And all those custom Jacksons,Tama drums,Marshall's etc go with it?
It was really screwd up from what i recall.

This is all you need ;)

I remember he came out with the Black 13....never played or heard one.
Some guys said it has a couple of good tones in it...but wasnt that great for the most part.
They are discontinued now arent they?

I have one... it's alright, fun to play with, sounds better through monitors or PA than through an amp.

Mesa 2C+, Furman parametric EQ, Celestion G12-65s.

Actually, that would have been G12T-75's, then switching over to V30's for AJFA.

One of my favorite tones! This is definitely on the list of influences I use when I tweak the 2203 based amp I built.

Did Scott use 6550 tubes for sure? It seems like every 2203 tone I like was based on 6550 tubes. Maybe I need to see if my transformers could handle them... The EL34's seem to hold me back from ultimate brutalness!

One of my other favorite Thrash tones! I would probably sell my Mark III if I didn't listen to this every few months to remind me of the awesome tone it can produce!

Do you know what they do with the Parametric EQ? I have heard this many times, but no one seems to know the settings. There are lots of pics of their Mark IIC+ settings, but I have never seen one of the extra EQs...

I have a few of them
They do kick ass.
I have one I am selling, but I need to replace the switch on it.
Sometimes have to hit it twice to get it on or off.
My other one is permanently in my rack and the other is on my floor board for different amps.
They really know how to slam an amp and not fuck with the natural tone.
