Here are a few short clips of the JCM800 that Brian Johnston modded and had listed in the forum classifieds back in Dec. There is nothing in front of the amp except a guitar chord. This is all amp. The amp does have a Boost function that adds some extra gain and a Solo function that raises volume so your leads step up a notch. I do have my Universal Audio Golden Reverberator set to Plate and Starlight Echo on EP mode with one quiet slap both in the amps loop (The Ted Templeman).

I do have 2 disclaimers: 1) I had a second rotator cuff surgery on Dec 4 and I'm only about 5 weeks out from surgery. Couldn't hold a guitar for 3 weeks - just getting the fingers moving again; 2) this is just the condenser mic of my Zoom Q2n camera in the room at cabinet level. There is (as always) a ton of lows and low mids that the condenser mic just cannot faithfully capture. But the amp his hella' articulate while still being slippery and greasy feeling under the fingers.

Brian also modded the 1959 on top of the JCM - I already have a few Zoom clips of that one on my YouTube channel and have posted them here on the forum somewhere. It's a little more vintage while still having plenty of gain on tap where the JCM is a little more aggressive. Having them both is unreal.

Brian is a fantastic guy and really know his ways around amps - and muscle cars(!) He has a shop that does full frame-off ground up pro-touring resto mods. Just incredible attention to detail.

I forwarded this link to Brian and hope he will chime in with info about the amp.

Hopefully Brian will chime in with some details - I pm'd him a link to this post.

Would love to hear a close mic as well, but from the camera mic it sounds very clear and the low end sounds tight

Brian Johnson changed the AC to DC
This is my error - Brian's last name is Johnston with a 't' - I know better (having bough 2 amps from him!!) but dam auto-correct rears its ugly head once again. I did go back and correct my original post.

Sorry Brian!!!
