Hey folks, new poster here.

Was getting ready to order some tubes from dougstubes when Doug informed that he wasn't really familiar with Diezels but he wanted me to check if the SED =C= 6550s might be too hot for the VH4.

Anyone have any experience?

Whoops, spoke too soon.

Just got off the phone with Terry from Diezel USA, who happens to be one of the coolest dudes in the industry!

He let me know that the only issue would be the EL34 clamps which isn't a problem.

It was a pleasure to meet and speak with you as well. Any further questions about anything, please feel free to call and ask. I am happy to help.

The easiest way to handle those tabs is just to break them off. Didn't know there was a nut on the other side holding the tube socket in. Pain in the ass those buggers are to get back in!

Wow, that's great info! I took the clips off when I got my Einstein and when retubing the VH4 I planned on doing the same. I guess the Einstein has different tube sockets where that isn't an issue?
