Just scored a head on ebay, and rather than buying a 2-12 cab, I'm thinking of ordering a Avatar 1-2 Cab. As it'll only be a 1-12, I'm worried about blowing a vintage 30. Any recommended speakers to run? Thanks

These guys seem to think the M75 65 watt and an H75 do the job well.I don't think they sound like vintage 30's and they are very easy to wire up Holy shit New Orleans just ran back a 75 yard interception
I'm trying to keep my cost down, as I can buy a USA Egnater 2-12 cab right now for $450 shipped, but I'm not sure if I can live with the color. I wonder how a Green back and a Vintage 30 would sound.

The M75 65W Scumbacks are like a greenback...but better. more clear...punchier...and thicker sounding. They don't break up near as much as a 25W greenback does. Best speaker I've played to date. The H75 65W is similar to G12H30, but without the icepicky highs. Has more low end than a M75, and more top end. These two speakers do fit very well together. I love them in my Eggie TM212. Great, great combo!
Not really any equivalent of a V30. Better sounding than that IMHO.
1. I hate V30's, but you probably wouldn't blow it with a cranked seminar head.
2. 1x12 cabs can make speakers react in VERY interesting(sometimes bad) ways. I find a more neutral, high power speaker like an Electrovoice works better as a 1x12 setup. ESPECIALLY, with a snarly, gnarly amp like the seminar head.
BTW, I have two seminar heads, and all of these speakers rock in a 1x12 setup with them.

Thanks Gene. Appreciate the info. I think I have a Bogner OS 2-12 coming, but I'm sure I'll be looking to experiment down the road. Good stuff to know.
