What type of cable should I use to connect a Gmajor2 to the serial loop of a mod50? TS or TRS? I can't find specific requirements other than shielded. Thanks for your time,

-Chris

You'll be fine with good quality TS cables. TRS balanced is not necessary in most cases.
Monster, Canare, George L's, ETC.

Thanks for the info. So, does the loop run at -10 or +4? I have the gmajor setup at +4 with TRS cables now. But, there is a considerable amount of tone suck. So I think I have things set wrong.

Thanks again,

-Chris

The Mod 50's loop runs at +4 dB. The TRS shouldn't be causing tone suck but your since your rig is not balanced the whole way, you don't benefit from the TRS cable. I just run mogami 2524 that i made myself. Any good cable will work fine.

I think your problem is the way Gmaj2 is configured from the factory.
Make sure you have the global in and out level set to 0 dB. I have adjusted preset in and out levels to 0dB as well. Cleaned up the overall sound alot. The TC gear is very sensitive to levels.
Make sure you have the unit running @ unity gain (input and output levels on the front set the same) and adjust your module masters to around 11:00-12:00. Also the routing you use on the preset will affect overall tone depending on what effects are being used. Experiment with parallel, semi parallel, serial, serial 2 etc. See which one sounds the best overall.

I spent a little time dialing the Gmaj2 in and now I hear no coloration or tone suck. It's a great unit, you just have to tweak it.
