Hey guys!

I just got my Nova Delay. It seems to work great but I need to set up my Furman pedalboard and delay to work with my MOD 50's effects loop. What is a typical length cable for pedalboard to effects loop? 10'? 20'? I would think 20 feet to be safe?

It looks like I also need two patch cables to patch from the pedalboard to the delay. Again, this is the first time I am ever using an effects loop. In the past, I always ran things up front and then had a Line 6 Vetta. So, since going back to tube, this is my first time running anything in a dedicated loop.

Seems like a lot of tone degredation? I have a 10 footer to the pedalboard, then a 20 footer to the amp. Then again...the two 20 footers in the loop would only be on for delay. It is a shame I can't just set the pedal on the amp head, but I like ot have access at my feet since you can't turn the Egnater loop on/off at your feet!

Thanks!
Rich

Shouldn't be a problem with two 20' cables (of good quality); both MOD50 FX loops are tube buffered so there won't be much if any signal loss. If you can set the delay to be 100% wet, then run it in the parallel loop and your dry mix tone will be totaly unaffected and you can control the effect mix from the front of the amp.

Thanks, I have the Nova delay and just need to be sure to calibrate as that is essential. I am still wondering if I should have went with a good analog delay like the Maxon AD-9 Pro which I know can be used with the MOD 50.

Anyway, I am going to try running it wth the MOD 50 in the parallel loop setting the effect to 100% wet so all I should have to do is set the calibration on the Nova pedal. I am confused on the parallel loop though because the Nova has presets so essentially wouldn't I leave the delay on? When I turn off the delay, I guess all of the dignal is bypassing the loop and essentially is out of the dignal path? I am just having a hard time understanding this. I guess that is another reason I should have bought the Maxon analog delay. Less to program and worry about!

I must say, I am loving the Nova delay in the parallel loop. What a nice delay and even the presets are great. I thought about buying an analog delay but having presets makes life so much easier when jamming or gigging. If only my chorus pedal was programable. Does TC make such a pedal? I have the Jaques Meister Singer up front now. I am trying to find a way to get a decent early VH tone with the chorus or using the Nova with its mod but I do not have a flange pedal.

Also, I am thinking of either a Keely Katana boost up front for solo volume boosts or an EQ pedal in the loop. For the EQ, I'd have to move the delay to the serial loop. Is this not recommended??? I may just try it to see how it changes the tone, if at all.

I am thinking I need the TC Electronic NOVA Modulator or their Chorus/Flange pedal to run in front of the amp. At that point, I would have ultimate versatility. Right now I only have the chorus.

Thanks!
