I didn`t play my Gibson Les Paul for a longer time because it is so heavy. And I never used it with my Diezel VH4 in a band situation. But now I played it a few times and I could not control the bass. It was always too much, especially in CH3 and CH4. So I tried to change the pickup position. I lowered the pickups a little bit at the side of the wound strings (about one rotation with the screwdriver) and there it is: a well-defined, clear sound
I didn`t know that the pickup-position would change the sound that much and that it would be sooo easy to set it up right
So give it a try and see how your sound changes

Yup, We've been using BareKnuckles in most of our guitars for the last couple of years, and they are very sensitive to position, you tend to spend the first couple of weeks with a screwdriver close at hand :)

Oh and Les Paul + VH4 =

Looks like the Vh4 is where I am going with the amp, so this is good to know: I always use Les Pauls and will keep this in mind.

So I take it that you like the sound a bit now, huh?

...a little bit... very little... not realy like it... hmmm...

DOOOOOOOOOHHHHH, I was just joking

I love this amp! It gives me all the sounds I need. (except perhaps a Fuzz, but if you turn up the Gain...) With a good fx unit there are no limits of sounds you can imagine! But sometimes I play it pure, just plug in the guitar and enjoy the tone. :) This amp makes me smile whenever I play it! This amp is like a speaking tube for your guitar. Everything you play, it shouts out loud and exactly like your Fingers do it. No more words. Just play it!

The pups on any LP are just outrageously potent with my Diezel heads... I have a some EMG equipped ax's as well and I gotta tell ya, the LP's pups are just HOT!!!! WAY HOT!!!!!!!!

I looooooooooooooooooooove my LP's...

My deep knob is on zero! Presence about 12 o`clock. On the channels I´m about 12 o`clock, too. Perhaps it sounded so muddy because of my 10` strings. Or can this be a sign for a tube-change??
Here are my settings:

So there`s everything fine! I was very surprised that one turn with the screwdriver changes the sound of the guitar that much! Now I´m happy all the way

Consider the guitar's pickups as you would a vocal mic.
It is easy to taylor the pickups to an amp if you understand how to adjust them.

:2thumbsup: And really, it's not like this is 'rocket surgery' or something. It's pretty simple stuff. But glad you got it sorted out.
