Should i buy seymour duncan pro aph2 slash bridge pickup or seymour pearly gates bridge pickup for my les paul ?? or any better bridge pickup suggestions needed for blues to heavy rock ??

I absolutely love the Rio Grande BBQ in the bridge of my Custom. Not blown away with the Texas in the neck though. Think I might try a Burstbucker 2. Bonamassa uses it, and I love his tone.

Here's a clip of the BBQ in a 75 LP Custom through a 2204 clone. Sorry about the quality.

The Pearly is crunchier or more aggressive in the upper mids and highs but is still sweet in a mahogany guitar like a paul. It has great harmonics, rev billy's pick harmonics come very easy. The a2p's are about the same output wise but they are smoother and rounder. Pearly seems hotter because of the voicing.

Try an .01uf tone cap on the Texas neck, much less heft and bloat and more clear goodness.

Just did this to my 79 LP Custom. I wish I did it years ago! Works like a charm!

 Ok! That's the exact problem I have with the Texas. Wish it had more bite too. Could you be more specific about how to wire it? Does it just wire up to the first and second or third post of the volume pot?

It changes the filter point of the tone cap. In other words it lets more highs through. Thinking of giving it a try on my '73 LP custom which has a SD Jazz pickup in the neck. BTW, Stock cap value is 0.022uF.

blackba pretty much covered it but you would just be replacing your existing tone cap between the volume and tone pots (probably an .022) with a .01uf.

I'd say the Pearly Gates. Its a PAF style pickup, but it will cover so much ground. It's sweet as honey when you want it, and mean as hell when you want that.

He summed it up pretty good but i also wanna add that the pearlies have a little more sizzle, i have both in my les pauls and love them.
