i'm not sure if that is next level genius or next level insanity ... it seems amazingly clever but kind of pointless?? Not sure why you would bother with fancy wood tops with all those switches and shit hahaha

A solution looking for a problem. I remember the MEG guitars in the 90's you could swap any body you wanted to onto what amounted to a through neck. The different body I think could offer different control arrangements. It was mostly pointless but they were nice guitars.

I modded a guitar body so I could clip on "wings" to change the shape of the guitar in the early 2000's. It had the centre neck thru and then recess bolts either side of the centre piece .. works well but the reality was I had 3 different "body style" cut outs but pretty much never changed them in and out ... owning more guitars is just more fun haha .... never took any photos of it sadly and eventually I ended up just gluing the wings on of the shape I liked best (Rhoads V) and threw the rest away

I agree, the built in "pedals" and pickup swapper is dumb. Seymour Duncan has a pickup swapper thing and do you know anyone who actually uses it?

I think they went way too hard in on this But I do have to say as someone who's first guitar was a Floyd and 30 years later....The strings to removable nut concept is legendary and I fucking want that

I have an RKS guitar; it has a central guitar with a removable plastic body; you can get other shapes, colors etc. but the idea didn't catch on; it's still a solid dual humbucker hardtail guitar.

Didn't work out too well for them.

Here's a MEG. He had a really sweet fully radiused V body with brass tips and a skeletonized SG as well IIRC.
