She's only 14.....what's your excuse

Awesome! Girl can play! And not just good 'for a girl'. She actually has good technique and her bends are accurate and vibrato is good. Pretty humbling that I can't sweep nearly as good as someone who's age is less than the total years I've been playing.

I'm unfamiliar with that piece of music, but that was phenomenal playing and seemingly something that would be way beyond her years! Kid is obviously dedicated and talented.

My excuse is that I'm lazy and untalented. :D

I thought it was about Elton...

Very good indeed and talented without a doubt! My only criticism is that she needs to slow that vibrato down. It got dangerously close to Hammett territory quite a few times.

HOLY SHIT!!!!
CHILD PRODIGY....
I don't have an excuse.

Vibrato needs a little work but still very impressive for that age.

Speaking of little girls doing shit better than any of us can... Anyone ever see this chick's stuff?

She's amazing. Like others, I've watched her progression from technical-only to technical-with-feeling. While I get discouraged watching her play, I'm also inspired. :)

I also absolutely LOVE these kids and their rendition of Tool's 46 and 2. The little girl just kills it...

F me. I agree on some of the vibrato being a little shaky but other than that, well done!

I could play that if I wanted to, I just don't. She's sitting down, meh. I don't like her shirt. They should use a more colorful background for the video. She shouldn't be wearing stupid headphones. Using a Vigier is cheating. It was sped up. She has no emotion, I can see it in her eyes. There's no passion in her playing, look at her face. Her tone blows. Petrucci sucks.

LULZ!!!!

I see so many players (young and old) that can play technical runs but never get the feel (bends and vibrato) down. Ever! Who cares if her vibrato isn't perfect. She can out play a lot of players I hear (including mine). I can't do sweeps to save my life.

I love how when anyone posts a video like this, alot of the peeps that can't play it say, "she's/he's really good, BUT! they need to work on their vibrato. Other than that, she's/he's pretty good for their age." ................................... FWIW, I can't play it, I'm old and worn out, yet still I think there is nothing wrong with her vibrato. ;)

Totally admire her playing, great job at that age. The reason I think some of us aren't going "wow, what a prodigy, I could never play like that now much less then" is because it simply isn't true. Many players who develop these types of shred skills develop them early on, I know I did as a teenager in the first few years of playing guitar, and I was far from alone and certainly not a prodigy. It isn't like you have to play for 20 years and then figure out how to sweep. It really is the finesse thats takes you to another level, like that killer vibrato, improvisational mastery, stretching beyond the basic scale structures, etc.

So it's still great work, jamming Petrucci at 14 is awesome and definitely puts her up there as a player. A child prodigy to me would be bringing say Govan (or comparable) level improv skills, and we're all scratching our heads like "how the hell can that kid already play that"? But that's an exceedingly rare player.

My "technique thesis" aside, I love these clips for what they are. These are kids in this electronic music day and age really playing their instruments, showing some awesome chops and going down a great path.
