My Mark V head landed today. This amp is simply awesome :inlove:

If I can find my Lehle P-Split (where did I put the damn thing), I am going to run it with the Herbert tonight. I think it is going to be a hell of a combination.

Cool. I'll be very interested to hear your report/review of that setup!

yeah the v is pretty brutal on the gain side no dubt. But it still not the herby but I bet they will work well together.

Totally different from the Herbie. Found my Lehle. Going to hook em both up in a minute. I was trying to figure out which head to set it under so it doesn't seem so obvious when my wife walks in that there is another head in the room. But dammit, its shorter than everything else. I am thinking of digging a road case out of the garage :D

    yeah I know about that trick myself but it doesn't work for me my wife knows everything I have, so I just tell her about and run away as fast as I can.

you think she would notice with your collection?

Just throw a little dust on it and she wont know the difference!!

I told my wife the Boogie Man left the V'r in my studio. Now how do I explain the new Marshall 1959 HW?

You can sell it to me for a good price man. :D

Don't do it cheap, man. I'll send you pack of Tuborgs for it :)

Wife control here is watching. The other day I was returning one of my acoustics from setup blah blah ...and she was like "Whhhaaat another guitar?", took some time to explain that it was one of my oldies "...honey. Remember I got it a year ago, just before our summer vacation ....".

Good thing is the "dust" suggestion might work with the stable here ...

Don't worry Peter, he'll put the V up for sale soon, like everyone else ;)

That's my problem....I rarely sell anything! I need to get rid of some of this stuff soon. The Mark stays though! Between the amps, guitars and cabs, I probably got more inventory on hand than some music stores.

Yeah, I know the feeling I have my own boutique showroom, but it is open for all to try.

Here's what works well for us amp whores with curious wives.......

1. Place new head on a dead cab.
2. Roll the cab intended for use in front of dead cab.
3. Stack two heads on top of cab in front.
4. Plug one of the two heads into dead cab for load and turn on in standby mode as a prop so she can see lights and the twinkle of tubes.
5. Plug new head into the cab in front and make noise with the new toy.
6. Repeat steps 1-5 for several days until - (a) you are in the clear, or (b) busted.
7. If 6(a), look for next amp to purchase.
8. If 6(b), plan a vacation or shop for new furniture.

My wife likes new gear as much (or more) than me, the only downside is we have no-one to put the breaks on when we get GAS.

Hey guys,

BigDog, I really like the case you have with Herbert and the rack. I just ordered an Anvil with a rack and space for 2 heads
Oh yeah, did I mention I have a Mark V, too :scared:

Anyway, I am in the same boat as Steve, thinking about how to run Herbert and the Mark V, for the SWEET blended tones. Got a Lehle SgoS for the switching as well, great unit. I guess there is just something about being on the forum that twists our minds in similar ways, HA!!!

Steve, keep us posted on how it sounds to you!! I am out of town and won't be able to play with the set-up until I get home. It is exciting, since I will have many LARGE packages waiting for me to open when I return. Cool part, my wife is staying around the house this morning to wait for UPS to deliver Herbert (back from Terry all fixed up) and a new Diezel Cab!!!!! One of the new ones with the G12K100's!!!!!!!!!!!

Talk about happy days!!!! I am just sick that I will not be there to immediately lock myself in my man cave for 48 hours to play

Patience, young padawan, patience!!!! :jedi: :force:
