shipping a VH4

I am trying to find a box to ship my VH4 in and it's proving to be a challenge. Has anybody had any issues finding a box to ship these amps in? They are all either too small or way to big. :doh: I threw the original box away by mistake when I moved.. :doh: :doh:
I am about to build my own box from plywood.

Just go to any of the big 'shippers' (UPS Store, UPS, or Fedex) and have them cut a large box down to size, then take it home to pack the rest yourself. This is what I always do which has never failed. :rock:
 
The other option is to do what I did when I had to ship my Einstein....go to one of your local music stores and see if they have any large boxes and do the same....cut down the size of it.

Worked great!

The einy is much smaller than the beast that is the VH4. What a huge amp!
 
get a 4x12 box from a music store (dealers hate keeping those) and cut it down, the included foams will fit too and help to measure where to fold

Google "custom boxes and movers" in your area and get a double or triple support box made, then use 2" high density foam all around, and then ship that puppy. Should only cost $30 or $40 in supplies, but you could drop it from 6 feet up and it wouldn't feel a thing.

Fedex/Kinkos store. $31 and pro packed with the expando foam! I can't believe I did not go in there last week when I was looking, I think the flu I had made me delirious. I guess the UPS store scared me with the cost. They wanted a lot more than $31.
Gonna miss the VH4 in a big way!
