My two year 20th Shiva has slowly become a noisy amp. The noise is there whether my guitar is plugged in or not. It is less noisy in the clean channel.
Is it time to do some tube swapping?

I believe my 20th EL34S Shiva is super quiet. If you suspect issues, send it to Bogner. Their support is great!
But yes, try new tubes. I rarely let my tubes get older than a year!
Bad tubes = noise.

Try a Tung-Sol reissue in V1 first, they're super quiet, and high in gain, so they work well in that position. I do a lot of re-tubing and preamp tuning for my friends, and that tube is a winner in V1 in many Bogners. You can get them from most online tube sellers like Laura and Doug. I had Adlene put a Tung-sol in V1 of his Uber, made a ton of difference.

Personally I find the Tung-Sols too bright.

Shove a Gold Lion 12AX7 in the V1 slot, and high grade Chinese 12AX7s in everything after that.

Should be aces
