Hi I'm very new to Rig talk and this is my first post so hello to everyone and I'm pleased to be part of it.

Can anyone offer advice please.

I use a Bogner Shiva 1 x 12 combo which weighs a ton. I'm not getting any younger and lifting it is getting to be a problem as I gig with it regularly.

I'm aware that Bogner do an amp head cabinet and a speaker cabinet so you can turn the combo into separates.

Has anyone done this and how much work is involved. (I've stripped and rebuilt amps before but back into their original cabinets.)
;)

uhh. send $350 + $25 sh/h to Bogner and they will send you the head shell with the new tolex.
at least thats what they told me. you also might want to get a longer speaker wire lead to use if you really want to continue to use the old combo head shell as an extension cabinet.

If you want genuine Bogner replacement headshells and cabinets, it's going to cost you - LARGE. You'd probably be better off selling your combo and picking up a used Shiva head and used Shiva 1x12 cabinet.....

I have done the same but I had to wait a while for a Bogner headshell to pop up for sale. I would sell the combo and look for a head and cab OR if you have the cash call Bogner. They quoted me a lot more than $350.00 for a headshell.

Thanks for the advice - I'm half thinking of buying a head and cab. I got a quote for a head shell and speaker shell delivered to the UK at a cost of £750 which is roughly $1200 dollars.

 What a joke.

Well after loads of deliberating I've found a solution, I got in touch with Bogner direct and asked about fitting side handles to the Shiva combo. They recommended a pair of handles and put me in touch with a company in the USA called Mojo Sounds. I've just had the handles deliver. £45 including £25 shipping but the amp is now so much easier to carry. Needless to say I'm over the moon. ;)
