Big Egg fan here. TM, then Renegade head, then renegeade 1x12 combo(also Randall RM50 combo NOW Lynch head with various modules into TM 2x12). Love Bruce's stuff, thinkin' about getting a used mod50. But... guessing the next generation will include all the Egnater "cool" features like: EL34 and 6L6 tube mix, power grid or 18/65 watt switch, super cool footswitch with channel assignable loops-reverb-boost? Also what new modules or what price point? Not afraid of Chinese production, so don't go there. Oh WTF should a gassin' MF do?

Not sure I'd wait........it might be a while for that! You can get them for fairly stupid prices now.

GET NOW!!! :D

Since I've got the Mod50 (and later an M4 to add to it) I've completely lost ALL amp GAS. But a fair warning, Amp GAS has been replaced by module GAS. Definitely less expensive, but still painful sometimes.

I agree, don't wait. Next Gen. MOD 50 will be a long time from now and there's no guarantee that it will have all the features you've mentioned. When you consider the E2 development and release track record, waiting seems like a poor choice.

I just got one of these things and of all the gear I've ever owned this one has wow'd me the most. I can usually tell right away (even through the 'new-gear-excitement' phase) if a piece of equipment is 'right.' The Mod50 is awesome. I don't know of any way it could be improved... because of that I would def not wait! All of the sounds sound great and is probably the most versatile amp I've used... Just to give you an idea... I was playing some Meshuggah on the EG3/4 with a 7 string and it was TIGHT. Then right into some smooth jazz. Then some classic rock...

DO IT

Not to say it was a 'stupid' price ( for me  ), but I got mine for 1200 with 2 modules in mint cond. :)

I'm still a little giddy about that deal...

Fantastic deal...coz that (used to be) a good price for just the head...you scored the modules free :-)

buy it now.

Why wouldn't you want to own the USA handmade version???

There is no guarantee there will ever be a next gen version, though i suspect that the outsourced version has a much greater probability of being updated to features in line with its outsourced siblings. If it were to stay in the USA I absolutely would not hold my breath for an updated design.

There is no doubt the import line sounds incredible for its price point and is an exceptional value. That said...$1200 for a boutique USA head that used to be $2400 is an insane deal. I cant even believe the prices these heads are going for these days. At that price Id jump all over the USA one especially considering that the added features will not compensate for the tone you will lose with the lesser quality components (especially trannys) and somewhat erratic quality control.

If someone has a MOD50 with the 2 modules for sale at 1200 $.....I'm ready !!! No joke

I think maybe I got a *little* lucky :D

Before I randomly found this, I was still ready to drop 1600 on one though, which seems to be a decent price!
