...sounding so awesome on so many clips everywhere and me not having enough dough to pay for it

I was kinda put off Diezel after owning a Prototype Herbert head a few years ago. Wasn't "all that" sound-wise but worst of all had major reliability issues and blew tubes right and left before I eventually got rid of it. Owned a few other heads after that Engl, Elmwood, Mesa and currently the Framus Cobra. But man, there's nothing curing that Herbert GAS. I'm on the verge of buying one on a payment plan just so that I can get my hands on it and sell off my current gear, but I'm hesitating because we don't have any dealers in Sweden that carry them on the floor so I can't try one out. And I'm not sure I want to buy a 2000€+ head based solely on youtube videos and studio recordings.

So how do I cure my GAS?

P.s, I don't know why I posted this... maybe it's the wine talking... :D

No Herbert is king. Nothing else even remotely sounds like Herbert. I sold mine n fkn missed it bad. Traded my Hagen for it n bam ! Back in the saddle again !

Been down your road before. There's good amps n great amps but only one Herbert !

N it's not just sound it just feels right n inspiring. Easy to play. No fighting it. If u know what I mean.

Best metal amp ever. But wait until you can afford one :)

Dont do it with a payment plan. Just safe up, take the time.......and never sell it after that

hmm definitely go and try play one in a shop if possible. I almost bought one a year ago from a shop in Austria remotely. But then I thought, there's no way I am gonna buy without trying it. It was a major disappointment to me when paired with a mesa traidtional cab, I am sorry guys but it was.

I found it too flubby with my sevenstring guitar (which on all amps sounds always rather sharp, razor/like and I always have to add a fair amount of bass to my settings to compensate) I ended up with 0! bass, full middle, full treble I still thought it sounded artificial, wooly and moved too much air and did not have 'healthy mids'. I just felt like 'this sound won't cut through in a band mix. Yes, mid cut was disengaged. And yes, I really cranked it up (which I of course did not need to because as far as all coments go, these amps play wonderfully on bedroom levels).

I walked out of the shop carrying a mesa mark 5 which in the first place i was not even considering. It sounded really great.

Oh yes and I remember - i spent most of my time on channel 2+ with not overly too much gain (i dont like too much gain on any amp), yet it was really compressed.

I´m sorry for that. Maybe the amp was "repaired" in a bad way
or had bad tubes.

Best,
Peter

Peter, that's what I thought too.

I do not mean to bash any of your products, I've heard an Einstein 100 something like 2 years ago and that was a BEAST of a sound! A friend of mine has a hagen, awesome amp indeed. Another of my friends has just bought a Dmoll and he's totally blown by it.
Keep doing that great job, I don't think I've seen many amp builders with such superb approach to it's customers, you've set the standards pretty high!

Hey my guitarist came up w his 7 string I was playing they a recto w 6 string tuned to b and bassist on 5 string my Herbert blew him away he was like omg this amp is amazing. N we play loud drummer is loud.
No problem cutting man guys have to tweak amp properly. He was on 2+ bass at 3 o'clock mids noon
Treb at 2. Deep was at 10-11 n presence was at 3 no mid cut used !

Brutal !

By the way... anyone have experience with the Diezel FL 4x12's?

I want to be able to FEEL my palm mutes like a kick to the chest, however my Framus Cobra through the Diezel cab won't do that without turning to a muddy mess. It doesn't feel like it's moving air enough because I can hear it all, but I can't feel it. Get it?
Now I was wondering if this is because the 4x12 is designed with the Diezel range in mind and thus are taming the lows slightly in order to cope with the low end thump that Diezel amps seem to have naturally?

I have had both. Both great I kept my rear load it has more thump front load is more present but both are great.

Any Diezel product into a mesa cab = FAIL IMHO. You wouldn't put wagon wheels on a Ferrari would you?
