It just occurred to me,

I stopped trying to achieve the tone of famous players and albums.

I realized the IE-4 and M4 sound better than anything I've heard on records.

I'm being absolutely serious. I used to try to get the EVH sound with attenuators and PA power amps after the fx post amp, etc.

It was all a waste of time since I now have MY own tone that kills.

Congratulations on completing the second step of the program.

I know exactly what you are talking about. It becomes real appearant when you go to a forum like The Gear Page where people just are floundering to find anything they like and they're constantly changing gear. There is no better feeling than going to turn on your gear on and knowing what you are going to sound like ... yourself.

Agreed. I was chatting with Frank a few months ago and I said this very thing. This amp just lets me find my tone. I also no longer chase anyone else's tone......just play the darn thing and enjoy!!

Oh Ya,I can finally start playing with the greatest tone ever!!!!

One of the many reasons why I like visiting this little forum in this little Egnater corner of the universe.

Frankly, it gets kinda tiring everyday on TGP when someone else asks "Help, what settings on my $1,000,000 Tube Screamer clone will get my that SRV tone?"

Like, really? Does this need to be asked again?

It's refreshing to come over here and see most discussions talking about the Egnater and what IT can do, not WHO it can sound like.

+1000.

Its really great. Chasing some outdated icon's tone is ridiculous anyways, unless you are in a tribute band. Its nice to be able to plug in and know there is nothing in the way but my playing.

It is nice and basic tone vocab to be able to cover the classic's tone.. especially from your own rig.

I believe if you can tone match on the fly with your existing gear, then you will also be able to tone match the ideas in your head quickly.

That's a pretty good point of view bburl, I like what you said. I find myself going from what I hear in my head into Led Zepplin and back and then into other artists again and then back to me. By allowing me to play and interpret what I am hearing it also taps into all the influences and things I grew up with like Humble Pie and Trapeze and James Gang and so on. It sure feels good that's all I know. The Egnater amp understands not just what I want to do now, but my entire vocabulary, which when you think about it is an artistic dream come true.

Since I started playing Egnater stuff....

My wife keeps asking me if I’ve been taking some sort of male enhancement pills. Seems my testacies have grown too!

I’m really bored today…
