Hi guys, I think I heard Nick say at one point, that he didn't like the sound of a V30 by itself. Maybe I misread. But anyway, I've got an Egnater 212x cab with the stock Elite 80 speakers. I also have a 112 Rebel Cab with the stock Elite 80 as well.

I have a couple of V30's lying around and I was thinking of either trying them in the 212 or the 112. But, the point being...

What do you guys think of a single V30 in the 112 Rebel cab powered by a Rebel 20?

Yeah..I can confirm that V30s really sound best in a 2x12 or 4x12. I'd recommend a K100 in the Rebel 20 vs a single V30. You will be much happier, as it will be a much fuller tone vs just a single V30.

So, then I suppose that a pair of Rebel 112 cabs with V30's would be good then? Unless having both speakers vibrate on the same baffle is important.

It could be okay..but i honestly think v30s in a 2x12..is the best.

I'd have to test them all...but from the past....from what Jeff has said on their 1x12s..and such...that V30s usually don't sound as good w/ 1x12s as they tend to "fart out" some in a 1x12.

Danny, I can whole heartedly confirm that a single V30 in a single 112 cab just isn't THAT great.

V30s have a sweet spot as far as how many speakers & how many watts are driving them. In both a combo, and a extension cab, a single V30 never yielded great results for me.

A pair of 112 cabs with single V30s in each: getting better.

V30s just like pairs and quads.

Cool, thanks for the advice. I thought I had heard correctly.

I have pair of V30's in my Lonestar 2x12 cab. I really like the sound. I gotta pull them out and stick the original MC90's back in to compare. Then put the V30's into the 212x Egnater and try that with both the Lonestar head and the Rebel 20.

I might as well try and get a hold of a K100 too then.

K100 is a strong choice for a single 112 speaker.

I have matching AB Audio 112 oversize (25" x 20" x 13") cabs in my rehearsal space, each with a K100. Got the speakers for about $85 a piece, and the cabs for $150 shipped.

The K100s like to be pushed. They're not that great at super low volumes, but when you crank it a bit, it sounds great. Records incredibly well too.

I've always wanted to get a Mesa Thiele 1x12 Cab with an EVM-12L, to pair with my Rebel. I've never heard one, but I keep hearing people raving about the dang speaker and cab. I have to get a hold of one and try it out.
