Skid Row got me into the Sex Pistols. Lzzy Hale got me into Skid Row. Go figure.

I never was into Skid Row. I had heard Youth Gone Wild and 18 and Life and that was all. I didn't have anything against them, they just weren't on my radar.

One day in the 90's, I bought this CD because Ozzy did a version of Purple Haze for the album:

BUT, track that knocked me on my ass was this one:

I heard a couple of really bad punk songs back in the early 80's, so I assumed the whole genre sucked. I'd never listened to the Sex Pistols, I figured they were crap. But Skid Row's version of Holidays in the Sun was so good! I remember thinking "The Sex Pistols did music like that?" so, off I went to the local record store and bought Never Mind the Bollocks. (Remember record stores? LOL) I was blown away by that record. SO good. It's PERFECT. One of the best rock albums in history.

Here's my favorite Pistols tune. It's a fuckin' Mike Tyson gut punch!

Anyway, I figured I'd check out the videos from the shows with Lzzy Hale and realized how great those songs are and how great the band is live. So, I started listening to the first three albums. Fuck me, I've been missing out. What a sledgehammer of a band. Now I see why people miss Bach, but dude can't do those songs justice live anymore. I checked out his live gigs and he just ain't got it no mo. Lzzy, on the other hand, was made to sing in Skid Row at this point in time. I hope they can make it happen.

Here's the last gig. Full show. Fuck me, this is insane!
