Can you guys who have played both talk about some of the differences?

I have and SL (which I LOVE) and an SL2x in my M4. THe SL2 chA is pretty nice, but I am hearing maybe some upper freqs with the b channel that I might not like? I'm not sure yet; it may take some time to for my ears to settle in.

Thanks!

Do you have an SL2 or SL2X.

i haven't played either. but all the clips of SL2 ch B sounds too trebly and GnR Appetite to me. so i just wonder , why the SL2X? guess i have to get one of those just to make sure.

.

Don't just listen to clips, because I don't feel any of the clips so far really capture what this module can do. Sure, it will do GNR very well, but it will also do a lot more than just GNR. Playing with the knobs really makes a difference with this one. If your curiousity is piqued, check one out for yourself as fast as you can. I personally love the SL2x and the x really "fixed" all the things I didn't like about the stock SL2.

SL2X is a little tighter and brighter than the SL2. Otherwise they are the same.

Thanks guys!

I was just a bit curious. I have the x and at first I was thinking channel b was a little strident, but now that I've been playing it for a few days it seems like it's either growing on me or I'm no longer hearing the offending frequency I did earlier. I did do a bit of tube swapping the other day, but I can't remember where I ended up now that I think about it.

Sumis, if you pass by Malmö/Lund sometime come by and check out my SL2X... Have never tried the stock SL2 so I can't really say anything about how they compare to each other...

Sums it up! I think you can just turn up the treble, presence, and lower bass for close to the same thing.

SL2X sounds to me like it has more clarity and KERANG!

I think the straight SL wins in the kerrang department! For me at least. Good Lord that module rings like nobody's business.

But I'm liking the SL2x more the more I play it. It's staying for sure!

I think you can get the SL2 or SL2X to sound very close to the SL with enough tweaking on channel A.
