SLAB - St. Louis Amp and Beer Fest

It was me, Dave (daver101), Jim (hmj), and Larry, but I can't remember his moniker. This was the first time for Larry, so that was cool. Can't seem to locate Japetus. Anyone know where he is?

I have a couple of observations to share for the heck of it.

- Larry had this little Mesa Thiele cab with the single 12" EV and it blew our mind! Holy cow, that little thing sounded FANTASTIC! I had no idea it could sound that big. My D412 sounded bigger (of 'course), but that little 1x12" was a huge surprise. I want one now. Cool as heck cab.

- Got to play Larry's Diezel Herbert for the first time and it rocked! Those Diezel's have this addictive quality to them. You don't want to stop playing! It was like that when Dave brought over his Einstein on a previous occassion and again last night with the Herbert. Great, great amps. I wish I would've kept my Einstein longer to gig with it and stuff. I miss that amp and want another one!

- Dave fell in love with my Deliverance halfstack. It was sounding GREAT last night! Jim and I both preferred it to my Peacemaker. I didn't ask Dave or Larry, but I'm guessing they agree. That can change on a daily basis, though and the Peacemaker is obviously no slouch in the tone department.

Had a good time with the fellas! Can't wait to do it again.

well he is still kickin so thats all that matters I am glad he is alright!

Had a great time, but as always, time was against us. Maybe next time we should do a sleepover (Thump, you could wear your Poison jammies!!!).....

I liked the Deliverance alot. Makes me want to check out the sig:X, because I really think the lack of an effects loop would drive me crazy after a while. All the amps sounded great! Larry's Herbert was awesome, and that freaking little 12 inch speaker was sooooo full!

So, things that I want to buy now, but must restrain myself from doing:

K-Line Strat
Little tiny Mesa Boogie speaker cab (actually, two)
Deliverance 60
Marshall 9100 power amp and JMP-1 preamp


And for the record, I loved the Peacemaker too. It's just not something I can play through. I need alot of help (post pre reverb and ambient delay, preamp gain), to make myself sound good........
